Research Associate

Background

Introduction

I joined Newcastle University in August 2017 as part of the transfer from Durham University. I am working as a Research Associate on the Department of Health funded Research Programme ‘Improving choices for care: a strategic research initiative on implementation of the Care Act 2014’. For this project I will be evaluating how national support programmes impact on local implementation of the Care Act 2014 and identifying elements that supported successful implementation.

In addition, I am also currently completing a PhD, applying a realist approach to explore complex relationships between the different aspects of the criminal justice system and health system through the introduction of speech, language and communication initiatives within a youth offending setting.

Prior to working at the university, I spent almost 10 years working within Local Authorities commissioning health and social care related services.
