Business and Outreach Initiatives at INSAT
Nanotechnology Exploitation
By collaboration with INEX (a separate Outreach Unit focussed on nanotechnology
exploitation), the Institute can provide all sectors of industry and government
access to:
- Licensing and spin-out initiatives;
- Embedded teams and startup company facilities;
- Cleanroom fabrication centre;
- Analytical and characterization equipment.

Outreach Initiatives
The resources of the Institute are being used to develop and support nanotechnology awareness and education in the wider regional and national community. Initiatives under development include:
- Nanotechnology workshops for seconday school students - providing students with the opportunity to learn about nanotechnology and nanofabrication;
- Hands-on nanotechnology workshops for teachers;
- Promoting nanotechnology awareness to the general public through special events. These will be organised with our partner organisations, who include the Policy Ethics and Life Sciences Research Institute (PEALS).
