Undergraduate entry requirementsUndergraduate entry requirements
ABB at A level is typically the minimum required for entry to an Undergraduate course.
You may be considered for first year entry with:
- a Título de Tecnólogo
- a Título de Profesor de Educación Primaria/Pre-Primaria
This will be assessed on a case by case basis and direct entry will be dependent upon the modules covered.

Postgraduate entry requirementsPostgraduate entry requirements
Typically we recognise 80 or 8 in a Título de Licenciado/Título de [subject area] as comparable to a 2.1 and 75 or 7 as comparable to a 2.2.
If you do not meet these requirements you may be eligible to apply for entry to a course at INTO Newcastle. These courses are based on our campus and help you to prepare for study with us.
English language requirements
If your first language isn't English you will generally need an IELTS score of 6.5, or equivalent, to study at Newcastle.
Our English language requirements section also lists the alternative English language qualifications we accept. This varies depending on which country you are from.

You can apply to the Secretaría Nacional de Educación Superior, Ciencia, Tecnología e Innovación (SENESCYT) for funding to study Masters or PhD programmes. These scholarships are available via Convocatoria Abierta in the following subject areas:

- Information and Communication Technologies
- Manufacturing and Construction
Fundación Beca can assist Ecuadorian students to get scholarships and study grants to study a variety of subject areas.
We offer Fundación Beca and SENESCYT students a 10% discount on tuition fees.
