From our records, the first time a Brazilian student graduated from Newcastle was in 1965. We are delighted that you are considering studying at Newcastle and hope to welcome you to the University in the near future.

 

Scholarships

Newcastle University is delighted to offer a number of scholarships specifically for high achieving Brazilian students.

Our Brazil Scholarship has a value of £7,500 and is available to students wishing to study a postgraduate taught programme in the 2014/2015 academic year.

The Newcastle University Overseas Research Scholarship is available to outstanding Brazilian students starting a PhD programme in the 2014/2015 academic year. Each award covers the difference in fees for UK/EU students and international students and has a value of £5,000 to £9,000 per annum.

We are also pleased to offer the Santander Latin America Scholarship, which is an award of £5000, available to students from Latin America. Newcastle University is a member of the Santander Universities Network, and these awards have kindly been provided by Santander.

Science Without Borders - Ciência sem Fronteiras

Newcastle University is delighted to welcome undergraduates and postgraduates from Brazil who wish to study here as part of the Brazilian government's Science Without Borders (SWB) programme.

If you are interested in applying for the Science Without Borders programme in the UK, you must first apply to CAPES (Coordenacao de Aperfeicoamento de Pessoal de Nivel Superior) or CNPq (Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Cientifico e Tecnologico) either directly or through your institution.

The UK application process is managed centrally by Universities UK. Full details of how to apply can be found on the UUK website. UUK contact for any questions: sciencewithoutborders@international.ac.uk.
