NUMed Malaysia
The University has signed an agreement to open a branch campus in Johor, Malaysia, and the first intake of students will be in September 2009.
The NUMed Malaysia campus will initially offer the degrees of Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), will be identical to the five year programme offered by the University in the UK. NUMed Malaysia is fully engaged with the General Medical Council and the Malaysian Medical Council in ensuring that its provision is fully accredited in both the UK and Malaysia.
The initial cohort of students will study the first two years of the course at Newcastle Campus UK, before transferring to Malaysia to continue their studies when the campus opens in 2011. Students will benefit from a UK education delivered in Malaysia at approximately half the cost of what it would cost to study in the UK, and enjoy a high quality learning experience in state-of-the-art facilities with excellent support and great career prospects.
