The University offers a range of support services to international students during their studies:
All students are assigned a personal tutor upon arrival at the University. Your tutor is usually linked to your programme of study and they can advise and support you in academic and non-academic matters. You meet regularly throughout the semester and you can go to them at any time for advice or assistance.
Our Student Wellbeing Service consists of a team of professional counsellors and other specialist staff who can offer confidential advice and support on a range of issues, including finance, disability, mature students, students with children and Life Matters.
The University’s Visa and Immigration Officer can provide free, confidential advice on a wide range of visa and immigration enquiries.
The Student Advice Centre, based in the Students' Union building, has a team of professional advisors who can provide advice and information on finance and employment, legal matters, academic problems and housing.
The award-winning Careers Service offers support in all things career-related to Newcastle University prospective and current students, as well as graduates, for up to 3 years after leaving the University.
Newcastle University graduates seeking to develop a business idea may also access our business start-up resources for an indefinite period following graduation.
