Business and Finance

Newcastle has a strong tradition of welcoming Business students onto its study abroad programmes. Our Newcastle University Business School offers a vast range of undergraduate module choices for any students who want to study in an environment with a strong international focus and with the latest professional and research knowledge in our key areas of expertise:

  • supporting organisational change and innovation.
  • developing external relationships
  • understanding business and professional practice and policy.

We also offer modules for:

  • any students in a Business Degree Programme, wanting to take courses that are not offered at their home university but may still fulfil home requirements.
  • Business students who want to take modules in another subject area. While students are required to take at least two modules in their degree programme, they are more than welcome to take classes outside of their field.

The Business and Finance programme aims to develop your understanding of the principles and techniques of your subject and to equip you with the necessary knowledge to progress into careers in management, marketing, finance, business information systems and economics in a wide range of sectors. This programme has been developed to enhance your knowledge of the specialist processes of management and transferable skills including communication, presentation, research methods and IT.  All of our business-related courses at undergraduate level are open to Study Abroad students.

In addition, students are able to take additional modules outside of their main area.

Eligibility criteria is for students who:

  • have studied at their home university for at least a year
  • are currently enrolled
  • have a minimum GPA of 3.0 (or equivalent) or higher
  • Non Native English Speakers - IELTS level 6.5 or higher OR TOEFL score of 575 (90 IBT) or higher.

Costs

In the academic year 2012-13, the fees are set as follows:

Academic Calendar

See the academic semester/year dates; your semester dates will be the ones called ‘SEMESTER ONE’ and ‘SEMESTER TWO’. For those coming here for semester one only and whose next semester back home starts early in the next calendar year, your semester end date will the one mentioned under ‘AUTUMN’.
