Control through electrical muscle activity: Does the left hand do what the right hand knows?

We require male and female volunteers aged 18 - 40 years, for just an hour, to take part in this study.

In this study, we are testing how an “artificial” proprioceptive sense can help you to control a new task.

Please check this volunteer criteria before applying to participate:

- healthy males and females aged 18-40 years
- right-handed
- normal control over muscles in the left hand
- no history of neurological diseases
- should not have participated in similar studies of myoelectric control before

Control through electrical muscle activity: How the way of acting affects the way of learning.

We require volunteers, male and female in the 18-40 age group to help us with this research. It involves one visit for one hour.

In this study, we are testing, how different methods of translating muscle activity into actions affect the building of this internal model and task performance.

Volunteer criteria:
  
-Volunteers should be right-handed
-Must have normal control over movements of their left hand
-No history of neurological diseases
-Must not have participated in similar experiments of myoelectric control

Trust Study

This study is looking at trustworthiness and how we process images.

We require men and women aged 18 - 25 years to take part in an on-line questionnaire which will take about 10 mins approx. You may then be selected to take part in a second stage which pays £20 in return for 50 mins of yout time during which you will be asked to complete a computer-based task.

Financial Decision Making and Reaction Times

We are looking for male and female volunteers aged 18 and above, to complete a short questionnaire in which you will be asked to make a number of theoretical finance related decisions. Your reactions will also be timed.

The aim is to investigate how the kind of financial decisions people make are associated with how quickly they react to different stimuli.

£5 in expenses will be paid.

How Our Emotions Influence What We Hear

We require volunteers to help with this research which is investigating how emotions can influence what we hear. 

Volunteer Criteria:
Above the age of 18
First language is English
No history of hearing abnormalities
No history of neurological abnormalities
