Conference award goes to IoN researcher

Dr Lisa Alcock has been awarded a poster prize at the recent International Society of Posture and Gait Research Conference

Congratulations to Dr Lisa Alcock, who was awarded the Best Poster Award for a Post Doctoral Fellow (Clinical Science) at the recent International Society of Posture and Gait Research Conference in Fort Lauderdale. The title of her poster was: Effect of obstacle contrast on visual behaviour in Parkinson’s disease. Lisa is a researcher in the Brain and Movement research group headed by Professor Lynn Rochester. The main focus of the group is to examine how gait (how we walk) changes as we age and can be used as a very early marker of changes happening in the brain. This could potentially be used to diagnose conditions such as Parkinson's and Alzheimer's at a much earlier stage than is currently possible.
