Introduction and area of work:

Cross Cultural Differences in Body Image perception.

This research will explore putative differences in the perception of health, fertility and attractiveness in Chinese populations in different economic and cultural environments to determine the relative importance of these different factors in behavioural judgements. This will direct implications for health policy in dealing with the growing ethnic Chinese populations in Newcastle and the UK as a whole.
