We are committed to bringing the excitement of brain science into the wider community. The Institute engages with the public in a variety of activities, from hosting public lectures and innovative art exhibits to running workshops for school children. Members of the Institute speak to and write for the public in various outlets, from national newspapers to popular science books. Our discoveries often feature in the popular press.
In March each year, the Institute of Neuroscience mounts special activities to celebrate Brain Awareness Week. Our past events include interactive workshops to build children’s understanding of what’s inside our heads, lectures on face perception and brain repair, and major art exhibits at the Hatton Gallery and Customs House. We work with leading artists to create new insights into the mind, brain and behaviour.
