Business and Administration systems

SAP

The University uses SAP to provide the infrastructure for all its business, such as finance, purchasing, human resources and student management. A full list of the SAP modules used within the University can be found on the SAP web pages.

Innovative applications of SAP, devised here at Newcastle, include:

  • Student Self Service (S3P) – which allows students to register prior to arrival, and to help manage academic progress once students arrive at the University.
  • Postgraduate applicant portal – which enables postgraduate applications to be managed completely online – exceptionally useful in the global academic world.
  • MyWorkPlace Portal – this includes online expenses, a system which has brought simpler – and much more timely – expense payments, Business Warehouse reporting (used to run reports quickly using SAP data) and an Inbox which is used to process postgraduate applications and approve expense claims.

These services are underpinned by dedicated resources in SAP business applications, which are complemented by ISS's SAP training team, and the ISS Helpline.

MyProfiles & MyImpact

Both MyProfiles and MyImpact are a web-based systems which have been developed by the University's Business Development Directorate. MyProfiles provides a variety of components which underpin the academic structures of the University, and over the next year will be gradually replaced by MyImpact.
