Inspiration 8

Inspiration is a concept mapping program. It provides a visual way of organising ideas and can be useful for essay planning and revision.

Inspiration Diagram

Inspiration lets you work with ideas as a diagram, or as an outline. You can export the outline to create a structure for writing e.g:

. A - Get Ideas Down
. B - spreads them around

Getting Started with Inspiration

  • Inspiration is installed into the "EasyAccess" group - Click on "All Programs" , select "EasyAccess" then "Inspiration". (On RAS you will find it in the "Accessories" folder)
  • Click on "Create a diagram" on the Starter screen
  • Use the Create tool to generate new ideas from your main idea

Create tool

  • Reposition the ideas by dragging them with a mouse
  • Click on the ‘outline’ tool to see your ideas as a list
  • Use the "Transfer" button to export your diagram to Word.
