Your University Email Address

Every member of the University is allocated a unique email address within the ncl.ac.uk domain.

Depending on availability, this will take the form:

  • firstname.lastname@newcastle.ac.uk

or

  • initials.lastname@newcastle.ac.uk

You are informed of your email address when you receive your Login details (Staff), or when you receive your Welcome booklet (Students).

Notes

  • In almost all circumstances, "ncl.ac.uk" can be used instead of "newcastle.ac.uk". (If you sign up for an on-line service which uses your email name for authentication, use "newcastle.ac.uk".)
  • ISS will not change your assigned email name unless (1) you have changed your name or (2) your name has been spelt wrongly when created.
  • If you are John Napier (no middle name), and there is already a "John.Napier@ncl.ac.uk" at the University, your email address will be "John.Napier2@ncl.ac.uk".
