CIFS

Connecting to your Home Folder from Mac OS X

If you are running Mac OS X v10.5 "Leopard" or later, then within the confines of the campus network it is possible to access your Windows H: drive directly via cifs.

When off campus and/or if you are running Mac OS X v10.4 "Tiger" then you should use "web folders" or the File Transfer Utility program in RAS.

To make a cifs connection to your H: drive on your Mac you need to know which TOWER server and which SHARE on that server constitutes your H: drive. If you do not know this then the best way to find this information is to open the CMDInfo utility on a cluster / campus managed PC.

The example outlined here is for user a2345678 on Tower7 share home42
