SAP at Newcastle University
Modules implemented
Between April 1999 and August 2003, Newcastle University implemented the following SAP R/3 modules:
- MM – Materials Management (purchase order processing)
- SD – Sales and Distribution
- CO – Consolidated accounting
- FI – General ledger for accounting purposes
- PS – Research project system
- FM – Funds Management
- HR – Human Resources (organisational structure, staff management, training and event management, managers desk top)
- Payroll – Payment of individuals
- PM - Plant Maintenance
- SLCM - Student Lifecycle Management (previously known as Campus Management)
In October 2005, the University implemented the following to improve the postgraduate admissions process:
- Postgraduate admissions portal
- Workflow for postgraduate applications
- CRM - Customer Relationship Management
- BW - Business Warehouse
Implementation aims
- To provide consistent and timely information to:
- support the day to day demands of teaching, research and academic services
- guide internal decision making at all levels
- meet external reporting requirements
- bind together a decentralised institution responsive to new opportunities in the external environment
- To underpin a process of continuous improvement in the provision of cost effective and professional administrative services to support front line
activities.
