Sympa List Service - Setting up superlists

To set up sub-and-superlists within Sympa, this is what you need to do :

  • Log in to https://lists.ncl.ac.uk/
  • If not already created, Create the sublists as normal lists
  • Once the sublists are set up, Create the superlist as a normal list (if not already created )
  • Now, we need to attach the sublists to the superlist. Firstly, you need to locate the superlist in the Your Lists menu on the left...(as listowner, you should see a red Admin button to the left of the list's name - click this button) :
  • The List Operations menu will appear on the left hand side - select Admin->Edit List Config->Data Sources :

  • In the User data source field on the main part of the page, ensure that this is set to 'include2' (it should be by default) :
  • For each of the sublists you wish to attach :
    • Enter the name of the sublist into the next blank field in the List inclusion fieldset - a new blank field will be added each time you add to this fieldset
    • Click update at the bottom of the page - you have added a sublist.

To delete a sublist, follow the same procedure except, where you would normally add the new sublist in the List inclusion fieldset, simply blank out the required entries for the sublist(s) you wish to delete, then click Update.
