Newcastle University subscribes to the Microsoft Campus Agreement which gives the opportunity to run a platform of software on all University-owned and University-leased PCs and Macs for the duration of the Agreement for use by University staff and by students who have access to University owned PCs. There is the option to run the most current version or any previous version.

The Campus Agreement is centrally funded with no onward recharging to departments, although it is necessary for ISS to keep accurate licensing records for audit purposes. The agreement is a rental agreement, and at the end of it may either be renewed (possibly under different conditions) or discontinued.
Software used under the Campus Agreement is available to Schools via School Computing Officers who will be responsible for installing the software on machines and for removing it as appropriate.
