Service provided

RAS delivers ISS PC facilities to any type of computer, whether it is a PC, a Macintosh or a Linux system.

Off-campus, RAS should work from any computer on the Internet (your home, Internet café, another institution).

On campus, RAS is very popular with users who have their own laptops, but who also wish to use the facilities of ISS PCs for example, to be able to use the cluster printers.

What RAS offers

Services include:

  • majority of the software that is to be found on ISS PCs;
  • your University filestore (Drive H);
  • access to private facilities, such as certain University websites which are normally only accessible on campus;
  • use of ISS printers, and some departmental printers.
