How Live Broadcasts Work
- Capture devices (video camera/microphone) used to capture the video/audio
- Encoding PC connected to the capture device sends the captured video/audio to the Streaming Server stream.ncl.ac.uk
- The streaming server broadcasts the audio/video over the Internet to users (in web browsers or stand alone media player clients)
- The streaming server also archives a copy of the broadcast for later repeat broadcasts
