Requesting Shibboleth Authentication

How do I use the Shibboleth service with my website?

Shibboleth protection is only available to members off staff on a limited set of secure servers within the University for official content only (i.e. not personal publishing pages).

To request Shibboleth Authentication to be used on your site, please send an email to webmaster@ncl.ac.uk providing the following information.

Information Required:

  • The URL of the site to be put behind Shibboleth
  • The reason for the site to be put behind Shibboleth
  • If you want to restrict access to a group of users please provide a complete list of users (email addresses) to be allowed access to the site

Your request will normally be processed within 3 working days, however at busy times of the year it may take slightly longer.
