A blog (short for weblog) is an online journal that can be updated by a user (a "blogger") with little or no technical expertise. For a more detailed definition, refer to the Wikipedia entry on blogs.
Blogs are available to all members of the University with a valid ISS login. Blogs within the University are used for a wide variety of reasons by a wide variety of people. The blog service is becoming increasingly popular with both staff and students alike.
We maintain a directory of blogs. Blogs will only be listed in the directory at the request of the owner.
Further information about blogs at Newcastle University is available, along with details of how to register.
Groups of users (for example, a research team or student society) may request a collaborative blog. All group blog members will need to be registered for the service individually.
