Questionnaire Builder
Introduction
This is a system to assist in the development of simple questionnaires.
It allows for the creation multiple page forms to be validated on a page by page basis,
stored in a database and then submitted to an email account without requiring much HTML or scripting knowledge,
though you will have to have some knowledge of basic web publishing, and
have registered for the web publishing service using the forms for staff
or students, as appropriate.
The system is designed make data collection as simple as possible, and does not help with
your storage or analyses of the data. Please contact webmaster@ncl.ac.uk with any suggestions
and queries you may have.
Some things to keep in mind:
- This system should not be used to collect financial information or
any personal details that could be
considered sensitive or private.
- Do be aware that survey results gathered in this way can be very
unscientific, and you ought to seek expert opinion on statistical
methods, if you are to present your results as part of an academic
study.
-
It's a very good idea to keep the questionnaire as brief as possible:
avoid overly long pages (three screen length or more will make the scrollbar
awkward to use). Split pages into logical sections where possible
to provide people with visual landmarks.
-
There is a lot of advice on the use of web based questionnaires and how to
build and design them, as well as pointing out some of the problems you might
encounter.
