External Customers

If you have not used our videoconferencing facilities before, please read the following carefully before proceeding to book a videoconference.

Standard facilities for the service include:

      • On-site technical assistance throughout your conference
      • Six seat conference desk
      • Twin multi-directional desk microphones
      • Twin 50" plasma monitors and 1 32" preview monitor

Additional chargeable facilities can include out of hours use, seating for additional participants/audience of up to 25, hand held radio microphones, manned cameras, multipoint connections, fully networked pc, laptop connections, S-VHS and DVD players, document camera and videoconference recording

Videoconferencing charges

Charges start from £80 per hour (excludes non-returnable booking fee; see below) + call charges.

Out of hours charges are: 17:00 – 00:00 @ £125 per hour.

00:00 – 09:00 & weekends @ £160 per hour.

All videoconferences have a minimum one hour fee, a minimum two hour fee is charged for our out of hours service between 00:00 – 09:00 and anytime at weekends.

  • ISDN Call charges within the UK:
    • 2 channel ISDN = £7 per hour
    • 6 channel ISDN = £20 per hour.
  • Call charges outside the UK: on request.

A non-refundable booking fee is required for all videoconferences, this fee covers initial setup and testing with other UK sites (call charges will be added for ISDN sites outside the UK).

Terms and Conditions

A non-refundable booking fee of £23.50 (inc VAT) is required for all videoconferences. Payment of the booking fee can be made by contacting Sue Tarlarini – Tel: 0191 222 6633 or email videoconferencing@ncl.ac.uk.  A cancellation fee will also apply for any cancellations with less than 48 hours notice.

  • The fees are:
    • Under 48 hours = 50% of booked facility
    • Under 24 hours = 100% of booked facility
