Cluster Software

ISS Provide a number of standard clusters and a number of specialist clusters, all clusters contain the standard set of software packages which include (in addition to standard software such as a pdf reader, flash player and media players).

ArcGIS 10.1 (10.1 is currently being rolled out across clusters due to driver changes being required, some still have 10.0)

CAD Clusters

There are a number of CAD clusters which in addition to the standard run

AutoDesk AutoCAD 2012
AutoDesk AutoCAD Civil3D 2010
AutoDesk AutoCAD Mechanical 2012
AutoDesk Inventor 2012
Ansys 13
CES Edupack 2012 

These are located in the TreeYard and Side Clusters. The Side cluster in the Bedson Building is open 24 hours. All machines have specialist hardware capable of running large simulations. Prioirty is given to Engineering students for these machines. If you are able to move to a standard PC when asked, please do so.

Legacy XP Applications

A number of Legacy applications which are mainly only used by Medical Sciences and Agriculture are available in the following locations

All the Medical School clusters 
Lawn and Naiad in the King George VIth Building
The Herschel Cluster
The 24Hr Side Cluster
The Brae Cluster in the Daysh Building
The Nereid Cluster in the Ridley Building 

The core set of software does not generally change during the academic year as they are used for teaching, the smaller utilities will be updated as new versions are released.
