Staff

Issued to all full-time members of university staff.

Allows automatic access to The University Libraries (Philip Robinson, Walton and Law) and the Computing Clusters, including the University 24 hour clusters, around campus.

Postgraduate Student

Issued to all postgraduate students.

Allows automatic access to The University Libraries (Robinson, Walton and Law) and the Computing Clusters, including the University 24 hour clusters, around campus.

Undergraduate Student

Issued to all undergraduate students.

Allows automatic access to The University Libraries (Robinson, Walton and Law) and the Computing Clusters, including the University 24 hour clusters, around campus.

Associate User

Issued to members of Staff and visiting Lecturers who are not paid directly by the University but use university facilities.

Allows automatic access to The University Libraries (Robinson, Walton and Law). Access to Computing Clusters is on a request only basis made to the IT Service Desk

External User

Issued to users of the University facilities who are neither employed by or studying at the University.

For example: fee paying members of the sports centre or fee paying patrons of the University car parking facilities.

This category has no automatic library borrowing or access rights.

NHS User

Issued to employees of the northern part of the Northern & Yorkshire Regional Health Authority.

Access User (formerly 'PARTNERS')

Issued to school leavers during summer term vacation to allow broader access to the facilities of The Robinson Library.

Many 'Access' users return to Newcastle as full-time undergraduate students.
