Free Microsoft Software for Science Students

Microsoft makes its software freely available to Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths and Medicine (STEM) students via the "Imagine Premium" program.  Students can download the software and install it on their personal PC or Laptop.   

The offer includes over 170 packages,  the following downloads are popular:

Note: This software program was previously known as Microsoft Dreamspark

To access the offer visit the ncl.ac.onthehub.com site, login by clicking the "Sign in" link at the top right and then  click the "Imagine Premium" tab under the "Students" tab.

Imagine Usage Guidelines:

  • The software agreement is between Microsoft and the user. It is not University-owned software.
  • Ensure that you read and understand the system requirements before installing any Microsoft products.
  • You may use the software for non-commercial purposes including instructional use, research and/or design, development and testing of projects for class assignments or personal projects. You may not use the software for any for-profit software development.
  • When you are no longer a registered student/member of staff in a department that is a member of Imagine Premium, you may no longer receive updates for your personal use computer. However, you may continue to use previously installed software on your computer, provided you continue to follow the program guidelines.
  • If you violate the terms of the licence agreement and end-user licence agreement (EULA), the Imagine Program Administrator will demand confirmation of removal of the program software on your personal use computer.
  • As defined by Microsoft's terms of use, not all software is available to all users.
