Facilities
The Centre has an extensive range of language learning facilities and resources including:
- language learning resources in over 50 languages
- access to 24 satellite television channels from around the world
- listen and record facilities for speaking practice
- PCs with interactive software specifically for language learners
- an international film collection of over 800 titles in DVD and video format.
Please note that items cannot be borrowed and are for use within the Centre only.
There are comfortable bays for group viewing, reading and quiet study. The Centre also runs an explorative language learning podcast site: Linguacast where podcasts are available in more and more languages.
The highly successful Tandem Learning project is run from the Centre helping students to find a language study partner.
There is always an assistant available to help students use the facilities while duty advisers from the teaching staff offer (by appointment) language advice or help to plan studies.
