Graduate of Newcastle University, with 11 years industrial and commercial programming experience before joining the University in 1996 as Computing Officer for Marine Technology.
Computing Officer for the Language Resource Centre support group (formerly known as the Open Access Centre) since joining in 2003.

IT Systems Administration and Support;
UCLT Project 2006-2007: Development of a web-based multi-media delivery platform (IMO/SpeechBank) for School of Modern Languages Interpreting and Language Teaching. Responsible for complete and successful Platform upgrade in 2010 in line with new server hardware migration to Windows Server 2008 R2.

Current Work
Re-write of linguacast website which is now almost completely database-driven and supported by a simple front-end Content management System. Incorporation of streaming video into site to enhance student learning experience. The site is planned to go live by the end of May 2012.
