Key charge£15.00 (refundable deposit for Locker keys. Replacement charge for lost key to Study Rooms)
Lost bookBorrowers who fail to return library items will be invoiced for the replacement cost. Alternatively, lost items may be replaced with a new copy of the same item.
Lost smartcardThe Library borrower's card is the University Smartcard, which includes the library borrower's barcode. The charge for replacement of the Smartcard is £10.00
Temporary day pass For forgotten/misplaced smartcards £3.00 (First entry - no charge)
Damaged/vandalised bookFull replacement cost (for definition, see Lost Book above).
LaptopsLost or damaged laptops will be charged at the full replacement cost of £640
Laptop power cablesLost or damaged power cables will be charged at the full replacement cost of £45
E-book readersLost or damaged e-book readers will be charged at the full replacement cost of £150
E-book power cablesLost or damaged e-book power cables will be charged at the full replacement cost of £16 and USB cables will be charged at £18
Inter-Library Loans£1.50 per request up to 50 requests and £5.00 per request thereafter in any year.

50p per each additional 10 pages received in excess of 50 photocopied pages.

Invoice issued by British Library for items not returned within a reasonable time (after 3 recall notices)

Higher charges are payable for certain types of material (per request):
  • Overseas photocopied articles - £9.00
  • Overseas monographs - £15.00
  • Postal copies - £3.00

Credit card payments for charges of £5.00 or more can be processed in the Robinson Library and Walton Library.
