Library wins Customer Service Excellence Award
The University Library has received the prestigious Customer Service Excellence award for the quality of its services. After winning five Charter Mark awards, the Library has now achieved the government's new service standard to confirm its reputation as one of the best in the country.
The new award focuses closely on the experience of customers, and the Library has been commended for understanding their needs, achieving high levels of customer satisfaction, and involving staff in developing and improving services.
Wayne Connolly, the University Librarian, welcomed the award as clear recognition of the contribution made by the Library's staff. He said:
This year we have responded to students' requests by introducing new ebook services, adding more study spaces and PCs, and increasing opening hours. Our results in the National Student Survey have improved, and we are rated as one of the best libraries in the country by international students.
However, the most important factor in the Library's success is the quality of the services provided by its staff. We have won the Customer Service Excellence award due to their hard work, enthusiasm and commitment'.
