Changes at the Marjorie Robinson Library Rooms

Marj 2.0Work begins on 31st July to modernise and extend the Marjorie Robinson Library Rooms to 3rd and 4th floors so it is ready to welcome even more students in the coming years. This work requires the temporary move of some of the existing study facilities and a short building closure.

We will be working hard with colleagues in Estates Support Services to keep disruption to a minimum.

1st floor closure from 31st July

From Monday 31st July the 1st floor collaborative learning space will be closed until January 2018 for refurbishment.

From Monday 21st August until Monday 4th September the entire building will be closed.

This is to allow time for furniture and computers to be moved from 1st and 2nd floors to 3rd and 4th floors, as well as some disruptive building works to take place.  Philip Robinson Library will be open with plenty of study spaces on offer.

Ground floor, 3rd and 4th floors will open on Monday 4th September

1st and 2nd floors will remain closed for refurbishment until January 2018.  The refurbishment will include infrastructure upgrades, installation of energy efficient lighting and a new suites of toilets.  Office space is also being created to accommodate the University’s Learning and Teaching Development Service.

All 5 floors of Marjorie Robinson Library Rooms will open in January 2018

From January 2018 we will have study space on all 5 floors of the MRLR, providing plenty of additional study spaces in time for the revision and exam time.
