How long users wait in the queue for the Issue Desk.

  • Standard: To serve 90% of users at the Issue Desk within three minutes.
Transmission of inter-library loan requests to the British Library Document Supply Centre (BLDSC) - our main supplier
  • Standard: To transmit 98% of requests to BLDSC before the end of the next working day.
Shelving of returned books
  • Standard: To shelve 95% of all returned books within fifteen working hours of return from loan.
Availability of IT equipment in the main University Library
  • Standard: All equipment to be checked on a daily basis.
Checking and ordering of material requested by users.
  • Standard: All lists deposited with the Library to be checked, and all appropriate actions completed within twenty working days of receipt.
Processing and readiness of new material requested by users
  • Standard: 80% of material orders to be sent to supplier within ten working days of receipt by Technical Services.
  • Standard: 80% of all materials received from supplier to be available on library shelves within eighteen working days.
To deliver information literacy training and support to 95% of the undergraduate courses which require it.
  • Standard: all course leaders contacted annually to offer information literacy training or support
To offer induction and information regarding library and information services to 98% of new academic staff.
  • Standard: To send an information pack offering an invitation to induction to 98% of new academic staff within one month of receiving the SAP listing of newly recruited staff
