Too noisy to study?
We are introducing a new service in the Law Library for the examination period. You can report any problems regarding noise (e.g. in the Silent Study Area) direct to Library staff.
Please send a text/SMS to 0191 222 7944 and include your location and brief details of the problem. A member of staff will patrol the area as soon as possible.
Our aim is to work with Library Users to provide a comfortable and quiet environment to study in.
Noise levels do vary -
- Silent study Area (including International Law, European Law and the English Law Reports) - set phones to silent - no conversation
- Discussion Rooms (Mooting Room, Foreign Law Reports) - quiet group work
- Eldon and Grey Clusters - work quietly - set phones to silent - brief quiet conversation
- Quiet Study Area (all other areas of the Library) - work quietly - set phones to silent - brief quiet conversation
If you are unwilling to comply with these guidelines you will be asked to move and if the problem persists you could be asked to leave the Law Library.
