- Check our catalogue - as many older items are held in the Research Reserve.
- Check our electronic journal holdings (from the Library's Electronic Journals homepage)
- Check the catalogues of Northumbria and Durham Universities and Newcastle City Library
- Once you have established that the item is not in stock you should then check Explore the British Library (the British Library's main catalogue). On the search results screen click on the Document Supply link under the Collection tab on the left of the page to display those items available for Inter-Library-Loan. Make sure you have the full bibliographical details to include the DSC shelfmark. Once you have completed your bibliographical checks there are two methods of making a request.
- Check subject-related databases for journal articles
- For UK and international theses requests, please see here
- If a photocopy is required for commercial purposes an additional copyright fee must be paid (UK Copyright Law 2003). Please ask at the Desk to see a member of the Inter Library Loan staff who will inform you of the appropriate copyright fee.
