Finding conference papers

  • British Library
    The British Library Document Supply Centre holds a large collection of conference publications from around the world. Conference publications available at the BLDSC can be obtained through the Inter-Library Loan service.
  • British Library Research Archive
    Database of papers and materials by researchers who are not affiliated to an academic institution. Those submitting documents here are usually the author or editor or have the necessary permission to make the documents available via this archive. Some of the material may not have been peer-reviewed. Examples include papers from conferences hosted by the British Library.
  • Conference Papers Index
    Available via the CSA Illumina service, CPI provides an index to papers given at conferences from around the world. CPI dates from 1982 and covers engineering, physical, life and environmental sciences. A Campus ID and password is required to access this database.
  • Papers First
    Available via the First Search database services, Papers First provides an index of papers presented at worldwide conferences. Papers First dates from 1993 and covers a broad range of subjects. A Campus ID and password is required to access this database.
  • Proceedings First
    Available via the First Search database service, Proceedings First provides an index of worldwide conference proceedings. Proceedings First gives a citation for every conference, meeting or symposium received by the British Library. Each record contains a list of papers given at each conference. Proceedings First dates from 1993. A Campus ID and password is required to access this database.
  • Web of Knowledge
    The Web of Knowledge database indexes papers given at conferences from around the world. WoK Proceedings dates from 1990 and covers subjects including agriculture and environmental sciences, biological sciences and medicine, engineering and the physical sciences. A Campus ID and password is needed to access this database.
