University of Newcastle Staff, Students and Academic Visitors

Members of staff please bring your contract of employment or a pay slip.

Registered students of the University of Newcastle are issued with their smartcard on registration and this is valid for the length of their course.

Guest and visiting members of staff from other Universities may be eligible for borrowing and/or consultation facilities dependent upon the length of time of their visit. They will need to bring their letter of invite issued by the Human Resources section within the School.

Retired members of staff are eligible for borrowing facilities. The Library is usually informed of this status. Please note that in accordance with publishers licences, access to many electronic journals and databases is restricted to members with a Newcastle University login and password. There are some exceptions, which are available from within the library from our external user PCs.
