Funders' policies on open access
Many funding bodes now insist that research outputs arising from their funding must be made available open access. Further information on research funders' policies is available at the JULIET web site.
Furthermore, all the Research Councils have agreed a common framework on open access to research outputs. Essentially, it states that, where required by a Council as funder, researchers should deposit outputs from their research in an acceptable open access repository as designated by the individual council. Newcastle University's e-prints service is an "appropriate repository" as outlined in the policies noted below, and is compatible with all repositories mentioned there.
