We provide access to a wide range of newspaper collections in print, online and on microform, including British newspapers from 1600 to the present day, plus major contemporary and historic international collections. The library’s multimedia room on Level 3 of the Robinson Library contains feature film DVDs, music CDs and LPs, together with various microfilm and microfiche collections. All these materials are listed on Library Search, and there is a printed list of the microforms collections in the multimedia room.
The room also houses a selection of equipment for viewing or listening to these collections and the DVDs can be borrowed for one week.

We also provide access to a wide range of online image collections, containing hundreds of thousands of images across all subject areas.
Many of our online multimedia collections are licensed for educational use, but please check the terms and conditions of the specific resource you are using.
The Walton Library has a substantial collection of CD-ROM and DVD programmes, which are shelved within the book collection within the Walton Library and are available for four week loan.
We welcome recommendations for the purchase of multimedia materials considered useful for teaching purposes; please use the recommendation form to suggest a new item.
The Robinson Library holds print maps in the collection on Level 4, with some historic maps held in Special Collections also within the Robinson Library.
We also subscribe to a range of electronic map collections from Digimap, including Ordnance Survey, Historic, Marine and Geology collections.
