When the college buildings were taken over the College authorities decided to carry on as best they could by obtaining accommodation in various parts of Newcastle.

The 1916/17 Report lists the same locations as in 1915/16. There is no list in the reports for 1917/18 and 1918/19 so presumably the locations remained the same as in 1915/16.
The main problem for the teaching departments was the lack of access to laboratories - laboratories in private companies in Newcastle were made available and some of the Principal's Annual Reports acknowledge “…owing to the kindness of Colonel Gowans (possibly the C.O. of the Hospital) and other members of staff of the R.A.M.C. permission was given to make certain restricted use of the Engineering and Electrical Engineering laboratories in College.”
