This exhibition focuses on the topography, history and benefactors of Newcastle upon Tyne and draws primarily upon Special Collections materials.

It aims to provide insight into some of Newcastle's well-known buildings and public spaces, while acknowledging the industries upon which the city grew, and considering ways in which welfare and recreational needs have influenced city planning.
The exhibition is divided into the following areas:
The Special Collections exhibition area is located on level 2 of the Robinson Library, to the left of the main counter as you walk to the computer clusters.
