Dining room of Sandyford Park

Photograph from an album recently given to Special Collections from a descendent of Dr. Gibb which has been added to the Gibb Papers.

This photograph shows the dining room of Sandyford Park, Dr Gibb's family home in Sandyford, an area to the north-east of the city. The photograph dates from c.1900, and is of interest because it shows the interior of a middle-class Victorian home. Although the photograph is slightly faded, the table, set with the best silver and china and vases of ornate flowers, is still clearly visible.
