Events, exhibitions and news

There are several places where you can find out about Special Collections and new rojects.

Treasure of the month
Each month we highlight something special from our collections by making it our Treasure of the month. This is our opportunity to showcase rare items, curiosities, beautiful illustrations and interesting bindings as well as items which particularly complement current research and teaching interests within the University. Previous treasures are archived online. Thumbnails of previous treasures can be found at the bottom of the current treasure page and the full image and description can be accessed by following those links.

Exhibitions
Each exhibition created by Special Collections (on level 2 of the Robinson Library) is also made available online (although the web version necessarily differs from the physical display). Previous exhibitions are archived at the bottom of the current exhibition page. You can access any of those online exhibitions by clicking on the appropriate link next to the thumbnail image.

Reading Room notice boards
Special Collections events and exhibitions are promoted on two notice boards in the Reading Room. Look for changing displays of posters and fliers!

Leaflets and posters
Posters and fliers to promote Special Collections events and holdings are sent to appropriate schools and divisions within the University.

Liaison Librarians
Special Collections staff disseminate information to the Liaison Librarians who should then be able to push out relevant information to our users. If you do not feel that you are receiving all of the information from your Liaison Librarian that you would like concerning Special Collections, please ask.

NewsLink
Subject to permission and editorial control, Special Collections events and other news are often mentioned in NewsLink, the electronic news digest of the University, which is also viewable by the public.

Library staff newsletter
Library staff can read about Special Collections events, projects and successes in the staff newsletter.
