Can I order Special Collections materials through Inter Library Loans (ILL)?
No! Special Collections materials are, by definition, special. They may be fragile, valuable, rare or even unique. The Robinson Library’s Special Collections holdings can, depending upon the collection and the category of user, be consulted in the Reading Room, or within the Library, but cannot be removed from the building.
Arrangements at other organisations will be very similar although it is usually possible to arrange a consultation if you are able to travel.
Depending on the physical condition of an item and subject to copyright legislation, photocopies, scans and photographs may be requested.
