Users are required to submit a request
form for each item they require.
While the Reading Room is closed for refurbishment, Special Collections materials may be consulted in the Committee Room.
Please submit requests for material in advance, in the usual way.
Alternatively printed request forms are available from the Special Collections Reading Room on level 1 of the Robinson Library where they can be completed and handed in.
Two collections are made daily Monday – Friday, at 9 am and 2:15 pm. Requests made 2:15 pm – 9am will normally be satisfied by 10 am. Requests made 9 am – 2:15 pm will normally be satisfied by 3:15 pm.
Users who have submitted requests electronically will be notified by e-mail that requested items are available for consultation.
Items from certain collections can only be consulted in the Reading Room. If you have requested any of these items, you will be informed of this condition when notified that the item is available. External users must consult ALL Special Collections materials in the Reading Room. Other items, which users will collect from the main counter on level 2 of the Robinson Library, do not need to be consulted in the Reading Room but must not be taken outside the Library building.
