Many government reports are popularly known by the name
of the Chairman of the investigating body. Many of these
can be traced through the published indexes to Chairmen,
which can be found on the shelves labelled Government
Publications Catalogues on Level 4, e.g. Stephen Richard's
`British Government Publications: an Index to Chairmen
1800-1899`and his further volumes covering the years 1900-1940,
1941-1978 and 1979-1982.
They can also be traced through UKOP
Online
and the Stationery Office
annual catalogues, the sessional indexes to Parliamentary
Papers and Ford's breviates.
Chairmen of non-parliamentary reports held in the Library
can be found in the catalogue
using the author search.
