Workshop - How to Get Started With the Prezi Presentation Tool
Laura Bailey
Location: Bedson Teaching Centre, Room 3.30
Time/Date: 11th May 2011, 14:00 - 16:00
Does PowerPoint frustrate you? Are you bored with the same old “Show slide > Talk > Show next slide”? Prezi looks and feels different. Using Flash, it gives you an impressive-looking presentation with freedom to present your ideas in a non-linear way.
Aims
You will see an example of Prezi in action. You will then learn how to use the tools to make visually exciting presentations, before creating your first Prezi. All participants should achieve a level of familiarity with Prezi sufficient to enable you to use it yourself. The session will consist of an introduction/tutorial followed by workshop time. During this, you will be guided through the process of setting up an account, creating a new Prezi and manipulating the tools available. You will be able to work at your own pace, and the leader will be present to assist and answer questions. As you will be creating your own presentation, you may wish to bring materials to make one on a topic of your choice. Materials might include anything you would normally put in a PowerPoint or on a handout: text, examples, diagrams, links, images etc. If you don’t have a topic in mind, you can just make a presentation about your cat/holiday/motorbike if you like – it’s up to you.
