SECOND CALL FOR PAPERS
We are pleased to announce The 7th Newcastle-upon-Tyne Postgraduate Conference in Linguistics.
This one-day conference is intended for linguistics postgraduates in all research areas to be an opportunity to present and discuss research in an informal and intellectually stimulating setting. The conference will take place at Newcastle University on Monday, 26th March 2012, in the Research Beehive, Newcastle University, with a conference dinner in the evening. In addition to student presentations, there will be guest plenary lectures from the following speakers:
David Crystal, Honorary Professor of Linguistics (University of Wales, Bangor),
Hermann Moisl, Senior Lecturer in Computational Linguistics (Newcastle University)
We invite postgraduate students to submit abstracts for oral and poster presentations on ANY area of linguistics, theoretical or applied (see abstract submission guidelines).
KEY DATES
The deadline for submission of abstracts is Monday, 9th January 2012.
PRESENTATION GUIDELINES
Accepted abstracts for oral presentations will be allotted 20 minutes for presentation and 10 minutes for discussion. For poster presentations, there will be a dedicated poster session on the day of the conference, and posters will be on display for the whole day. Presenters will also be invited to submit their papers to be considered for inclusion in the Newcastle Working Papers in Linguistics (http://www.ncl.ac.uk/linguistics/research/workingpapers/index.htm).
