Research
Research in Linguistics and Language Sciences at Newcastle University falls into three broad themes:
- Applied Linguistics and Language Acquisition
- Clinical Linguistics
- Theoretical and Descriptive Linguistics
Across these themes, staff work on a wide range of languages, adopt diverse methodologies and theoretical perspectives, and share a strong commitment to engaging in productive and innovative collaborations. For staff working on speech/language disorders and second language learning, there is also a strong focus on developing the evidence base underpinning practice.
