CRiLLS Funding Opportunities - Funding for travel
The British Academy offers funding to cover travel costs within a number of their schemes.
ESRC funding for travel costs is included in applications for Research Grants, Large Grants and First Grants. In addition, funding for one research trip to India for early career researchers is available through Early Career Researchers Travel Funding.
The Leverhulme Trust offers funding to cover the costs associated with international travel within a number of their awards. These include:
- Study Abroad Fellowships which support a period overseas in an academic environment. These Fellowships can be applied to activities that are not strictly research, for example, ideas exchange, the development of new lines of research and collaborative ventures.
- Research Fellowships are open to experienced researchers, particularly those who are or have been prevented by routine duties from completing a programme of original research.
- International Networks allow a Principal Investigator based in the UK to lead a research project that requires participation from relevant overseas institutions for successful completion. Applications must contain a research theme which includes participation by one or more UK universities and two or more overseas institutions.
The British Council funds Europe-wide Research Networks which connect young researchers for the purpose of collaboration and ideas-sharing.
The SISTER website maintains a page devoted to Travel Grants.
